"For ages the angel Snow wanted a chance to join the heavenly choir. From the time of creation her job was to usher in the beginning and end of winter. Every snowflake was guided by her and found its final resting place by her hand. When the Earth was consumed with fire on the last day of time, she tasted bittersweet victory. Her role was complete and soon the new reality of aftertime would wipe away all that came before. The only blameless regret a perfect angel could have is never proving herself worthy of promotion.

But at the very last hour an assignment from on high was delivered to her. The mission was to enter the Creator’s vault and account for the contents inside. This vault housed everything man forgot until the end of time: a family heirloom, a dream, a greatest fear, and each mistake lost to memory. She accepted this quest without hesitation and entered in at the minute she was told. What she didn’t expect was the vault to take on a life of its own or the forgotten monsters working to cover up the evidence of their wrongdoing.

Unfortunately for her she also had to deal with me, a worthless boy who accidentally destroyed the world."

Where Things Went

My Angel Fantasy

New Book Mailing List

Spring of 2025 was the 10 year anniversary of my earliest story concepts for Where Things Went. As it turns out, I'm still figuring out the rest! I wrote about 80,000 words of a first draft manuscript, I completed all of Act I and half of Act II, but I'm at a bit of a crossroads at the moment. Although this has been my main project for several years, I am putting it on the back-burner for now to work on "Inspiration Belongs to Everyone." It was and is an overly ambitious story that I'm trying to make as understandable and entertaining as possible. I never imagined creating a whole fantasy world from scratch would be this challenging or this rewarding. If I could name the single greatest inspiration for the story it would certainly be the Worlds album by Porter Robinson. I am tremendously excited to share this passion project with you when it is ready and hope you will have half as much fun reading it as I had writing it.

Inspiration Belongs to Everyone

Removing Barriers to Art in the Digital Age

"I am performing an economic and legal experiment with this book. If you purchase this book from me, I have succeeded. If you borrow this book from someone else, I have succeeded. If you “pirate” this book off of the internet, I also consider that a success. And if you share a copy of this book with another person, my success is guaranteed. There are very few scenarios where this book is a failure because I have removed many of the invisible barriers to success.

It is impossible to live in the post-internet world and not be exposed to all kinds of creative products. At the same time we are browbeat to feel guilt for sharing copies of a picture, excerpts from a book, clips from a movie, or links to a download. After our imaginations are filled with someone else’s corporate portfolio, we’re told not to act on the inspiration we’ve been given. Anyone with an artistic bone in their body knows this is an unnatural request.

I propose a new standard. Here I explain a framework designed to inspire the public and enrich creators using the untapped potential of online redistribution."

This will be an expanded explanation of the Michael of St. Joseph License outlined here on my website. Instead of boring you with endless theories and complaining about the problems around Intellectual Property, I'll focus on presenting a solution. I aim to write an approachable, informational book that will appeal to art appreciators and business savvy artists.
