"For ages the angel Snow desired the rank of Seraph so she may join the heavenly choir. From the time of creation she was tasked with ushering in the beginning and end of winter. Every stray snowflake was guided by her and found its final resting place by her hand. When Earth was consumed with fire on The Last Day of Time, she tasted bittersweet victory. Her role was complete and soon a new reality of Aftertime would be upon every creature. The only blameless regret a perfect angel could have is never having proved herself worthy of promotion.

That was until I, Eshrael, Archangel of Arts and chronicler of the events Before Aftertime, delivered to her a last minute assignment from on high. The mission was to enter the Creator’s vault called Ferrous and retrieve the contents therein. Ferrous was the place that housed everything man forgot until the end of time: a family heirloom, a dream, a greatest fear, and every discarded transgression. She accepted this quest without hesitation and entered into the vault. What she did not expect was the vault to take on a life of its own or the forgotten monsters that sought to cast their evidence of wrongdoing into oblivion.

The end of another world drew near."

The web novel, or I should say web series, Before Aftertime is a collection of stories contributing to an overarching setting and theme. Expect a staggered release in ebook, webnovel, and (possibly) audiobook format with a physical book available somewhere down the road. After each book is completed the setting of Before Aftertime will continue on with new stories all told by our illustrious narrator Eshrael, Archangel of Arts. Spring of 2025 will be the 10 year anniversary of my earliest story concepts for Where Things Went. If I could name the single greatest inspiration for this story it would certainly be the Worlds album by Porter Robinson. I am tremendously excited to share this passion project with you and hope you will have half as much fun reading as I had writing.
